Living & Dying Well

Sponsored by NHS England, the RSA Student
Design Awards 2019 wanted a concievable idea
in the form of an animation that illuminated
the audio content provided.

The audio content explores why talking about
illness and planning for death is important for
people affected by serious health conditions.

'Living & Dying Well'
Narrated by Michael Buerk

The style of this animation is highly minimalist. My task was to illuminate on key issues
in a way that makes them accessible to a broad audience.

This animation provides clarity in the form of geometric shapes. They are simple,
easy-to-read forms that bring clarity and straightforwardness to the animation.
I've prioritised on usability of aesthetics; reducing colours and forms to achieve
elemental simplicity with the goal of preserving their fundamental nature.

Geometric shapes when combined with other elements, in this case motion, can
combine to form the right solution to a problem.

I wanted to create something purely organic, free of untruths and ornamentations.
